DC After Dark (“we”, “us”, “the service”) is a Washington, D.C. nightlife discovery platform operated at thescenedc.com. These Terms govern your use of the site, the mobile apps, and any paid subscriptions (DealPass, venue-tier plans) offered through the service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
Plans. DealPass is a recurring consumer subscription ($5.99/month or $49/year). Venue-tier plans (Verified $49/mo, Featured $149/mo, Brand Partner $499/mo) are sold to venue operators who have been approved as admins of a listing.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. You authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge the payment method on file until you cancel.
Free trials. DealPass Monthly includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you cancel during the trial, no charge is made. If you do not cancel, the subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your profile page (DealPass) or the venue admin dashboard (venue plans), both of which link out to Stripe's Billing Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.
Refunds. Paid periods are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support within 30 days.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice, sent to the email on file. Changes never apply to the current billing period.
If you claim a venue, you warrant that you are authorized to act on behalf of that business. Paid venue tiers (Verified, Featured, Brand Partner) grant specific placement and control rights described on the pricing page; they do not guarantee any particular amount of traffic, rankings, or revenue.
We may suspend or remove a venue listing if it violates these Terms, misrepresents the business, or receives credible abuse reports.
Reviews, check-ins, photos, and other content you post remain yours. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display the content in the service and in reasonable promotional contexts (social, email) with attribution.
Don't post anything illegal, defamatory, hateful, or content you don't have rights to. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
Some outbound links on the service (ticket purchases, reservations, social) are affiliate links. When you buy or book through them, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which venues or events we show you.
No scraping without permission, no reverse-engineering, no interfering with the service's operation, no impersonation, and no using the service for anything illegal.
The service is provided “as is.” Venue hours, cover charges, specials, and event details come from venue operators and third parties and may be wrong. Always verify directly with the venue before planning around specific information.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts of Washington, D.C.
We may update these Terms periodically. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email.
